Grand National, the John Butler Trio's fourth full-length release on Jarrah Records, highlights John's personal quest to create a more "universal kind of music." This album is a creation that moves listeners a bit closer to the group's all-encompassing vision of human experience. John Butler believes in the power of love, compassion and personal evolution. Through his music, he hopes to inspire people to think about how they can take their own steps to affect positive change both socially and environmentally.
On the fall 2007, Good Excuse Tour, JBT encouraged fans to take action in their communities and protect the places that they love to play. In San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle, JBT joined fellow GreenNotes artist Brett Dennen, CLIF BAR, fans and local organizations to make some environmental changes. About 550 of you lovely fans came out to lend a hand, meet the band and enjoy some amazing music. Check out the video above for a pictorial recap.
CLIF BAR and GreenNotes are proud to team up with JBT to help them spread their message of hope and peace on the road, and to give fans a Good Excuse to join them. Through the partnership with CLIF BAR, JBT is continuing to take the following steps while on tour:
- Reducing the amount of waste produced while on tour
- Fueling the tour bus with biodiesel
- Offering an organic cotton t-shirt option to fans
- Using 100% recycled paper and soy based inks for all printed materials Reducing the amount of waste produced while on tour
- Recycling on board the bus and backstage at venues
- Requesting organic food backstage at all shows
- Minimizing the idling of their bus when not in use
- Staying at hotels identified as more sustainable
- Offering fans a green ticket option so that you can offset the CO2 emissions produced while driving to see JBT perform.
