When CLIF Bar started in 1992, we were interested in making healthy, all-natural food; playing outside; and celebrating the good things in life, including our passion for music. Not much of that has changed.

All that time spent outside has given us a healthy appreciation for protecting all those places where we play from global warming — one of the biggest threats to the environment. We've learned a lot about how and why we should reduce our environmental impact and the importance of sharing it with others — including musicians and music lovers.

We've spread the good green word at music festivals and venues for the last two years. We've partnered with events like the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Green Apple Music and Arts Festival and others, working with them to "green up" their events with all sorts of environmental footprint-reducing changes — from recycling and composting stations to organic cotton t-shirts and offsetting CO2 emissions created by the festival with groups like NativeEnergy. In 2006, we helped "Green the Greek", working with Berkeley's own Greek Theatre in our backyard to make the 2006 concert season climate neutral and implementing many of those same ideas from the festivals.

Recently we've developed relationships with some amazing bands who share that same passion for making positive environmental change. We're working together to learn how to make their footprint a bit smaller — and to share that info with others. We're excited about the progress we've all made but realize that significant change will happen when you, all of us, get involved.

Get inspired by these bands and follow their lead to take some action of your own. You'll be surprised at just how easy it is!
